Owen's blessing
Melanie and Josh would like to invite family to come see Owen's baby blessing. They're coming to AZ for several weeks so the blessing will be on Sunday, Sept 7th at 9:00 a.m (sorry) at Julie's ward building (on Lazona and 6th Ave South of Broadway, between Gilbert and Stapley). Hope you can come. We'll also probably have a get together that night somewhere. We'll let you know as soon as we can arrange it. Be sure and check out the new cute pictures on Melanie and Josh's blog. See ya all soon.

Owen Caleb Wallbrecht was born!
Owen Caleb Wallbrecht was born Tuesday, August 12th at 3:17 a.m (Chicago time). There are some cute pictures of him on Melanie's blog (Melanie and Josh) and also a cute video. Melanie and Owen will also be in Arizona for almost a month if you'de like to see them before they go to Equador. They will be flying to AZ on Aug. 28th. Hopefully we can all have a family get together so everyone can see them both. Be sure and check out the pictures and video.

Melanie's surprise birthday party
Sorry I'm so late posting this. Two Saturdays ago, a bunch of us Leglers got together in Scottsdale to celebrate Melanie Legler's birthday. We all met at Abuelos restaurant (Scottsdale road and the 202) Paul actually managed to keep it a secret so we were able to surprise Melanie. DeAnn and Jeanine put together a gift basket and a big arrangement of helium balloons. And of course DeAnn brought her fun confetti, which was scattered around the table. Some of us (DeAnn, Nate, Julie, Ivan, etc.) discovered the little metal balloons made great shooting rockets. So, you can imagine how our table looked with people shooting metallic balloon confetti at each other and Nathan in his usual silly form. Poor Jeanine kept commenting that there was no invisible dome of silence to hide our craziness. I think we definitaly stood out at the restaurant. It was fun though and Melanie seemed to really enjoy it. We were glad to be able to give her this special surprise and we are so happy to have her part of our crazy "Legler" clan.

4th of July BBQ at Nate and DeAnns
Yesterday we enjoyed a fun BBQ at Nate and DeAnns house. We ate a ton of food as usual but that wasn't all. Many of us went to the movie "Get Smart" and we all laughed a lot. Poor DeAnn had Nathan on one side and me on the other laughing as loud as can be "in stereo" and at all the same scenes. I even took the same bite out of DeAnns Harkins cup as Nate. (We both have the same genetic quirks!) .
Then there was the "pickle" that I kept smelling during the movie only to find out Amy Legler was eating a "giant" pickle right next to me. Makes sense now with Amy being pregnant but she tells us she has always loved to eat pickles at movies. (Who knew?)
After the movie, we all went back to Nate and DeAnns to play games and watch a few ....fireworks. (You know, the home made by Levi variety). Well, after a few good "booms" and some nice flashes of light, we suddenly had the police helicopter flying over the house shining their search lights in the back yard. Everyone got a little nervous but after a bit they flew away. We're still not sure if the glow in the dark smiley face I put on the table in the backyard made them laugh or not but that's about when they decided to check out other more interesting yards.
After that we played "laugh your pants off" (or the milder title) "laugh yourself silly". It's kind of a combination of charades and telephone mixed together. It can be quite the silly game though and everyone seemed to have a good time. Since it was now midnight, we decided we better finally go on home (poor DeAnn had to work in the morning). As a parting act of "silliness", Cassie and I decorated DeAnn's front tree with glow-in-the-dark bracelets. A new tradition, the Fourth of July tree!
We missed many of you and wish you all could have been there. Paul and Melanie we really missed you and hope we can do something together soon. We also missed Ivan and Janet's kids. We would love to plan an activity for everyone to come to soon. Well, love you all lots and glad we can be a part of this "crazy" and "unique" family.

Fourth of July BBQ at Nate and DeAnns
Just want to make sure all Legler's know about the Fourth of July BBQ Friday at Nate and DeAnn's house. We will start about 4:00 and pig out for several hours. Those who want to go see fireworks we'll probably go see the ones off of Brown and Lyndsay by the church there. They're not bad for church fireworks. We usually go to a park near by. So be there are be square. Bring your favorite game and/or call DeAnn to see if she needs anything else. Hope to see you all there!

Confirming all rumors!
Well the rumors are true! Justin and I are expecting a baby! I am a little over 8 weeks (okay okay, 8 weeks and 4 days) and our due date is January 31st. I have been so blessed to not be sick yet - of course I'm constantly exhausted and I get a little nauseous when I eat, but other than that, I have been feeling wonderful. We had our first ultrasound last Thursday where we were able to see the baby on the monitor. We were in total awe to see how much is forming already. My doc said the baby was smaller than a grain of rice yet we could already see the head and could see arms starting to form. Amazing how technology has evolved.
I will post pics from the ultrasound as soon as I can get Justin to put them on a disc.

Justin the computer wiz
I just wanted to thank Justin for spending the day fixing our computer. I guess it had viruses, a trojan horse and lots of cookies and other things to slow it down. He's going to help us install more memory also next week. So, I just wanted to pass the word that if you need help with your computer Justin is very capable and knowledgable at fixing them or upgrading them. He needs the extra work right now so maybe we can all help spread the word. He's a lot cheaper than the Geek squad and does a better job too. If you'de like to set something up with him call him at 602-377-1510. He's also looking for a job and would enjoy doing something with computers. So let's help get the word out. Good luck Justin!

Do you want to be "Wicked?"
Just kidding! I thought it might catch your attention. But seriously, if you want to go to see "Wicked" the play, many of us Legler's will be going. We need to order the tickets right away so let me know if you are interested. We can all be "Wicked" together.

Happy Birthday Kayla!
Kayla turned sweet... er...17 yesterday so be sure and wish her a very happy birthday. Several of us Legler's went to Ken and Jeanines house tonight to have birthday cake and icecream and wish her a happy birthday. Nate and DeAnn and Justin and Amy and DeAnn's mom Caroline were also there. Mom and DAd Legler were also there as well as Amy, Cassie and myself and all the kiddos and kiddetts. So, I hope some other Legler's will start writing on here and telling about your exciting lives! Be a "Legler" or be "square".
Hope to hear from you!
Hello Legler "clan"! Melanie is here for the week visiting from Chicago and so she helped me to make our Legler blog more accessable. So, we've attempted to invite everyone in the famiy (or at least everyone who Melanie has e-mail for) again to be part of the Legler Blog. So, hope to hear from all of you from time to time. Just write a quick note and let us know you've received this invitation and tell us how you're doing. If you can, send along a picture. Our hope is this will be a way to keep a little bit more "connected" and to know each other better. So, hope to hear from you soon! Also, hope to see many of you tomorrow at Melanies baby shower. Take care!

Unblocking the blog
I decided to "unblock" this blog for just a week or two until everyone gets used to finding it and then I'll either block it again or do like Melanie mentioned and just have people who want to be on this blog's addresses listed. So, either way, I'm gonna give it a few weeks.

Cassie won the prize for music!
Well, I'm excited to be getting a few blogs on here. I hope the rest of the family will gradually give it a try. So far we've had Kim, Cassie and Amy Legler. Kim won two movie tickets for posting first and posting the first picture. I'll have to think of some kind of runners up prize for Amy for posting 2nd and posting the 2nd picture. Cassie is also a winner for posting the first songs. So, spread the word, I think it's cool to have a fun way to keep in touch.
Lets see if this works
So Justin and I dont have a blog of our own yet (mainly cause Im still way to addicted to Facebook, I dont need to start on this too haha) - so this has taken me FOREVER just to figure out how to get to this page...now I have to hope and pray that it posts correctly....
Anywho, my main reason to post, is to ask for some help from everyone. Justin's company is closing in the next week and a half and we are having a really hard time finding somewhere else for him to work. So if anyone knows of somewhere that pays decently please let us know. My email is aka.amers@yahoo.com.
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!
Now lets really push my luck and see if I can post a pic too...Justin did this to me the other day when I was taking a nap...I was so sounds asleep that no matter what he did to try and wake me up it didnt work. But when I woke up and rolled over and those million pillows went crashing into my blinds....lets just say I thought I was going to have a heart attack :)

Memorial Day at Nathan and DeAnns
Last night a bunch of us "Leglers" got together at Nathan and DeAnns house and had a little barbeque. Let's see, who was there? Well, Nathan and DeAnn, Sam, Derrik, Ken and Jeanine, Kayla, (Reddin?), Justin and Amy, Julie, Amy and Cassie, DeAnn's mom Caroline and her friend(Sorry I forget her name) and Grandma and Grandpa Legler. If I missed anyone, sorry, I do have a pretty bad memory.
So, we ate a lot of good food (grilled chicken, hamburgers, potatoe salad, jello, chips, soda, etc) and had a good time visiting. Memorable moments included when DeAnns dog jumped up on Jeanine while she was eating and spilled a big glass of water all over her (made for a good laugh), and Nathan and I had a good time checking out pictures from Equador from Melanies blog. It brought back a lot of memories for him of his mission. Let's see, we also got to see pictures of Brandon on his mission cutting grass with a machete and hear a little about his mission. We also had a big conversation about people who ate wild mushrooms and their weird experiences. You know just about any topic can come up at these Legler parties. Oh yeah, and Nathan wanted to kiss Uncle Ken (just kidding) and we were teasing him that he and DeAnn really need their 25th Anniversary get away to Pine this week.
So that's about it. It was a fun night together at DeAnns. If you were there and you have anything else to add, go for it.

Yeah! Kim wins the first two prizes!
Hey, Kim, good for you! You win the first two prizes (two movie tickets) for being the first to write a post and send a picture. Now, the next prize will go to the person that adds some music. So, the password was a bit tricky? Glad you were able to figure it out! By the way, one thing that is very important is for everyone who uses this blog is to please sign out when you are done or else no one else will be able to add their own post. So I was thinking I need to mention a couple of rules for this blog. Number 1 is always sign out when you're finished. Number 2 is please keep comments, pictures, etc. positive. Let me know if you can think of any other rules that will help prevent problems. Oh, and feel free to make changes to this blog if you want to make it look better. One more thing, today we are having a get to gether at DeAnn and Nathan's house for Memorial Day about 5:00. Call if you have any questions!
Hi Legler Fam!
Hi, this is Kim Welker. I decided I would be the next to post (mostly because I wanted a prize). It took me a little while to figure out the password though. Heres a link to Devin and I’s Blog, if you don’t already know about our blog: http://www.devinandkim.blogspot.com/
Heres a picture I posted on my own blog already, but thought Id share on this blog too;

I hope this Legler Family blog finally works!
Hi everyone. I'm trying to start a Legler Family blog. I've had a few technical difficulties so I'm having to start a new one. I hope this one finally works. I'm trying to start a blog that can be used by everyone in the family to help us all keep in touch. So let's give it a try. You know the saying, . . . . . The family that "blogs" together, knows what in the "blog" is going on. So, join the blog band wagon and lets keep in touch. I have prizes for the first blog entry (besides mine) first picture and first song. So let's get a bloggen.
Take care,
Julie
