4th of July BBQ at Nate and DeAnns

Yesterday we enjoyed a fun BBQ at Nate and DeAnns house. We ate a ton of food as usual but that wasn't all. Many of us went to the movie "Get Smart" and we all laughed a lot. Poor DeAnn had Nathan on one side and me on the other laughing as loud as can be "in stereo" and at all the same scenes. I even took the same bite out of DeAnns Harkins cup as Nate. (We both have the same genetic quirks!) .
Then there was the "pickle" that I kept smelling during the movie only to find out Amy Legler was eating a "giant" pickle right next to me. Makes sense now with Amy being pregnant but she tells us she has always loved to eat pickles at movies. (Who knew?)
After the movie, we all went back to Nate and DeAnns to play games and watch a few ....fireworks. (You know, the home made by Levi variety). Well, after a few good "booms" and some nice flashes of light, we suddenly had the police helicopter flying over the house shining their search lights in the back yard. Everyone got a little nervous but after a bit they flew away. We're still not sure if the glow in the dark smiley face I put on the table in the backyard made them laugh or not but that's about when they decided to check out other more interesting yards.
After that we played "laugh your pants off" (or the milder title) "laugh yourself silly". It's kind of a combination of charades and telephone mixed together. It can be quite the silly game though and everyone seemed to have a good time. Since it was now midnight, we decided we better finally go on home (poor DeAnn had to work in the morning). As a parting act of "silliness", Cassie and I decorated DeAnn's front tree with glow-in-the-dark bracelets. A new tradition, the Fourth of July tree!
We missed many of you and wish you all could have been there. Paul and Melanie we really missed you and hope we can do something together soon. We also missed Ivan and Janet's kids. We would love to plan an activity for everyone to come to soon. Well, love you all lots and glad we can be a part of this "crazy" and "unique" family.

I shouldn't have read what you guys did. It just made me sad that I wasn't home, especially since our fourth of july was so lame. & nice how I wasn't included in who wasn't there!
